Lucy Critchlow ACR, MA, BA (Hons), Paintings Conservator

Lucy was awarded the Institute of Conservation (ICON) Professional Accreditation for Conservator Restorers in 2014.  Prior to the formation of Crithlow & Kukkonen Ltd, Lucy worked for a number of private practices, including Gillian MH Walker's Conservation & Restoration of Easel Paintings studio in Sheffield, and undertook a variety of projects for museums and art galleries across the UK.  After her History of Art BA (Hons) at the University of Birmingham, Lucy went on to achieve a Distinction at Northumbria University for the Conservation of Easel Paintings MA, and in 2010 she completed a post-graduate Conservation Internship at the Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg, Maastricht.  She is passionate about conservation and takes a keen interest in scientific advances in this field.

Eeva Kukkonen ACR, MA, MLitt, MA (Hons), Paintings Conservator

Eeva was awarded the Institute of Conservation (ICON) Professional Accreditation for Conservator Restorers in 2017.  Prior to the formation of Critchlow & Kukkonen Ltd, Eeva worked  at Gillian M H Walker's studio in Sheffield, in a private conservation studio in Glasgow and at the Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg, Maastricht, where she undertook a post-graduate Conservation Internship in 2012. Eeva's conservation experience also includes working as a part of a team conserving the walls and ceilings of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh in 2011. Eeva has two first class master's degrees in the Conservation of Easel Paintings, Northumbria University (2012) and Approaches in Technical Art History (2010), University of Glasgow. In addition she has completed professional development courses including Pigments and the Polarising Microscope (2012) and Modern and Traditional Resins and Varnishes (2012).  

Lucy Partridge MA, BA (Hons), Paintings Conservator

Prior to starting at Critchlow & Kukkonen Ltd (2016), Lucy spent the last four years working at The Brick House Fine Art Conservation Studio just outside Salisbury with April Johnson ACR.   Here she undertook a variety of work for heritage organisations, museums, art galleries and private clients.  Lucy has also carried out freelance work for the National Trust and has assisted with a number of projects for private institutions.  After her Fine Art BA (Hons) at the University of Leeds (2007), Lucy went on to achieve a Distinction at Northumbria University for the Conservation of Easel Paintings MA (2011). At the moment Lucy is working towards her Accreditation with the ICON.

Pauline Murray MA, BA (Hons), Paintings Conservator

Prior to joining the studio (2017), Pauline was the ICON/Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) Painting Conservation Intern at The Bowes Museum, County Durham from 2015 to 2016 and worked as a freelance painting conservator for Manchester Art Gallery and The Whitworth Art Gallery.  She was awarded the Professional Preparation Masters Studentship by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Block Grant Partnership in 2011 to undertake the Conservation of Fine Art, specialising in easel paintings, from Northumbria University where she graduated with distinction in 2013.  Pauline has a particular interest in the conservation of modern and contemporary paintings underpinned by a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Manchester School of Art - MMU (2003) and she has undertaken short courses to further her knowledge in this area such as: New Methods of Cleaning Painted Surfaces at Tate (2016).
